Steel Announce 2023-2024 Schedule

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Chicago Steel, in coordination with the United States Hockey League, released its 2023-2024 regular season schedule Wednesday with all games excluding the Dick's Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic which will be announced separately at a later date.

The Chicago Steel 2023-2024 regular season schedule may be accessed here, with two Fall Classic games to be added in the coming weeks.

For the first time since the 2019-2020 season, the Steel will play each of the other 15 USHL teams during the regular season and the league reintroduces a cross-conference scheduling model for the 2023-2024 campaign.

After a pair of Fall Classic matchups (to be played between Sept. 20 and Sept. 24) and a Friday, Sept. 29 matchup in Wisconsin against the Madison Capitols, the Steel will have their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 30 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

New for 2023-2024, the Steel will play eight Saturday home games starting at 6:05 PM, including opening night on Sept. 30.

The Steel play seven home games before Thanksgiving including a pair of games against the Green Bay Gamblers Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 coinciding with the CCM World Invite, the largest youth hockey tournament in the world. The Steel will host the defending Clark Cup Champion Youngstown Phantoms Saturday, Oct. 21, Friday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 19.

Chicago embarks on its longest road trip of the season over Thanksgiving Weekend, traveling to Fargo, ND to take on the defending Western Conference Champion Fargo Force. The visit will mark Chicago's first to Scheels Arena in Fargo since capturing the 2021 Clark Cup Championship.

December features three home games in the first nine days of the month, with matchups against Madison on Saturday, Dec. 2, USA Hockey NTDP U17 on Sunday, Dec. 3 and Green Bay on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The Steel will close the pre-holiday portion of their schedule with three matchups in Michigan including the first meeting of the season between Chicago and USA Hockey NTDP U18 on Wed., Dec. 13 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

Following the USHL holiday break, the Steel will visit Madison before returning home for a Saturday, Dec. 30 matchup with the Capitols and a pair of games against the Sioux Falls Stampede Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6.

The Steel will then embark on their longest road span of the season, playing five in a row away from home from Jan. 9 to Jan. 20, including a road trip to take on Western Conference foes Waterloo and Des Moines on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13.

After hosting Cedar Rapids on Friday, Jan. 26 and Des Moines on Saturday, Jan. 27, the Steel will enter February with a busy stretch of home games the first three weekends of the month.

The Steel will take on conference foes Muskegon and Green Bay on Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4 before and will host Madison on Friday, Feb. 9. Presidents Day Weekend features three home games at Fox Valley Ice Arena with a pair of games against the Tri-City Storm on Friday, Feb. 16 and Saturday, Feb. 17 before concluding the weekend with a Sunday, Feb. 18 tilt against Madison.

March is the busiest month on the home calendar with six games at Fox Valley Ice Arena including three Sunday home games. The Omaha Lancers visit for a pair of games on Saturday, Mar. 2 and Sunday, Mar. 3 followed by USA Hockey NTDP U17 on Saturday, Mar. 9 and Sunday, Mar. 10.

Following the home series against the U17 club, the Steel will visit the Lincoln Stars for their first matchup at the Ice Box in Lincoln, Neb. since Oct. 28, 2017.

The Dubuque Fighting Saints will make their two visits to Fox Valley Ice Arena on Sunday, Mar. 24 and Friday, April 5 for a rematch of the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinal series.

The Steel close the 2023-2024 regular season with a pair of home games against Muskegon on Friday, Apr. 11 and Saturday, Apr. 12.

Friday home games will start at 7:05 PM. Eight Saturday home games will begin at 6:05 PM with seven others starting at 7:05 PM. Sunday home games will start at 3:05 PM.

Season ticket plans for the 2023-2024 season are on sale now starting at just 5 games for $50. Season ticket plans are built on flexibility as fans have the option of choosing their own games throughout the season with multiple benefits including season ticket gifts and special events.

The Steel will soon announce on sale dates for groups, suites and other premium areas. Single-game tickets will go on sale in August, and a full promotional schedule for the 2023-2024 season will be released prior to single-game tickets being made available for purchase.
