The Steel swept the best-of-three Eastern Conference Semifinals series, capturing Game 2 with a 5-4 victory Sunday at Fox Valley Ice Arena...In a back-and-forth contest, the game was tied four times before Chicago scored the only goal of the third period...All five Steel goals were scored by different players ... Chicago outshot Dubuque 36-19.
Chicago advances to the best-of-five Eastern Conference Final where it will meet the Youngstown Phantoms...The series will begin with two games at Fox Valley Ice Arena, Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 before the series shifts to Youngstown for Games 3 and 4 (if necessary). If a Game 5 is needed, it will be played at the Fox Valley Ice Arena on Thursday, May 11.
Quinn Finley scored the game-winner for his sixth career playoff goal. Last season with the Madison Capitols, the University of Wisconsin commit and New York Islanders prospect registered 10 playoff points (5G, 5A) in 14 games.
Charlie Major had a goal and an assist in his second career playoff game. In the regular season, the Cornell University commit had two multi-point games.
Nolan Joyce scored his first career playoff goal. The Boston College commit had 10 points in the regular season (3G, 7A).
Michael Emerson registered the first playoff goal of his career. Emerson had 30 goals and 34 assists in the regular season, ranking 12th in the USHL in points.
Cameron Johnson recorded his first career postseason goal. The Harvard University commit notched 25 points in the regular season (6G, 19A).
Jayden Perron, Nick Moldenhauer, Chris Delaney, Jake Livanavage and Mick Thompson had assists.
Goaltender Christian Manz stopped 15 shots to earn his third career playoff victory.
