
USHL Preps for 2023 League Drafts

The United States Hockey League (USHL) hosts its Phase I and Phase II Drafts Tuesday and Wednesday, welcoming the next batch of USHL talent into the league each year.
The league is also partnering with NeutralZone to provide online coverage with commentary and analysis for the first day of the USHL Phase I Draft and the link will be available at ushl.com Tuesday, May 2 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
"The United States Hockey League is proud to showcase the great future talent of our great league by providing draft day coverage of this historic league event," said USHL President and Commissioner Bill Robertson. "Partnering with Neutral Zone will assist us in additional promotion and dialogue so we can highlight the future players who will compete in our league in the years to come."
Phase I: Tuesday, May 2 at 4:00 pm. CT
Phase II: Wednesday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. CT
The USHL Drafts are completed in two separate Phases, beginning with Phase I, which consists of 10 rounds of "Futures" age players, who will be under-17 players for the next season. For the 2023 Draft, this is 2007 birth year players. Wednesday is Phase II of the draft, which is open to players of all ages who are eligible to play junior hockey and are not currently on one of the protected USHL rosters. The Phase II Draft continues until all Member Clubs have filled their Initial Protected List to a total of 45 players, including those who were previously protected from the Member Club's affiliate list.
