
Steamwheelers to Hold Tryouts for 2004 Season

DAVENPORT, Iowa â The 2003 season is over for the Quad City Steamwheelers and head coach Rich Ingold is not wasting any time in getting ready for the 2004 season.
"We are starting recruiting now," the head coach proclaimed Friday morning. The first attempt at starting to put together a 2004 team will take place on Sunday, September 7th from 9am - noon. It will be held at Augustana's PepsiCo. Center in Rock Island, Ill. The tryout will cost $30 (cash only).
Players who plan to attend the tryout will be required to wear tennis shoes (no black soled shoes can be worn) and will be tested in: 40-yard dash time, 20-yard shuttle, individual drills and group drills.
"We are looking for candidates to replace the numerous players that will be moving up to the next level, whether it's AFL or NFL," Ingold said. If there are any questions or comments, Ingold can be reached at 309.292.6107.
