Louisville Fire News Release

Louisville Fire owner/operator Will Wolford has more than just selling Fire season tickets on his mind this weekend. Wolford's prized colt Honor in War will be running in the Grade I Arlington Million this Saturday at Arlington Park in Chicago.

Honor in War came from behind on Derby Day to win the Grade I Woodford Reserve Turf Classic by 1¼ lengths. From there Honor in War went on to finish sixth in the Grade I Manhattan Stakes on the Belmont undercard. The colt bounced back to win the Grade III Arlington Handicap in July to set-up his chance at winning the Arlington Million this weekend.

"Winning a race with all of the tradition of the Arlington Million would be the ultimate goal," said Wolford, "Plus, it would be for a whole lot more money."

Honor in War is owned by 3rd Turn Stables and trained by native Louisvillian and St. X grad Paul McGee. McGee has had his sights set on the Arlington Million since the colt's outstanding performance in the Arlington Handicap. "Assuming all goes well between now and then, the Arlington Million is our primary goal," McGee said after the Arlington Handicap.

The Arlington Million is the 10th race on the card at Arlington Park and Honor in War has early odds of 12/1. ESPN will carry the race live on Saturday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with post time for the Arlington Million set for 6:15 p.m.
