
Stephens Named Lineman of the Year

CHICAGO - Tennessee Valley's OL/DL WES STEPHENS (6-4, 270, Middle Tennessee State) has been named arenafootball2 Lineman of the Year.
The Middle Tennessee State standout, played a big part on an offensive line that yielded an af2 record low of three sacks. However, Stephen's greatest contributions came on defense, where he proved very difficult to contain.
The second year player finished the season tied for second in the league with 11.5 sacks (10 unassisted, 3 assisted) and first in af2 with eight forced fumbles. He also recorded a team high 24 quarterback hits and registered one safety.
Stephen's was named ADT Defensive Player of the game on three occasions this season. One of Stephen's most impressive outings of the season was on June 14 against Columbus. In that game, he recorded 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles as the Vipers ran away 66-20 victors.
