EDENTON, NC - The Edenton Steamers ousted the Peninsula Pilots by a final count of 3-1 on Friday night. Edenton (11-16) snapped a seven-game losing streak at Hicks Field, while Peninsula (18-8) fell to an even 3-3 record against the Clams in the first half.

Ted Christie earned the win on his 22nd birthday. Christie (2-2) held Peninsula to one run on six hits while walking two and fanning four batters in five innings of work. Drew Faintich earned his first save of the season, shutting out the Pilots on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in the ninth.

Chris Gau shouldered the loss for Peninsula. Gau (1-1) surrendered all three Edenton runs on as many hits with two walks and three strikeouts over five innings.

The Pilots manufactured their only run in the third inning. Kyle Wrighte connected for a one-out single and stole second to put a runner in scoring position. Joe Poduslenko followed with another single to score Wrighte and give Peninsula its only lead at 1-0.

The Teal and Black tied things up in the bottom of inning. Stefan Van Horn led off the frame with his third homerun of the summer to knot the score at 1-1.

The Clams plated two more runs with a two-out rally in the fifth. Van Horn knocked a single, and back-to-back walks for Ben Prada and Mitchell Price loaded the bases. Richie Cunningham stepped up in the next at bat and delivered a two-run single to finish off the scoring and give Edenton a 3-1 advantage.
