Stealth round out coaching staff

Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth today announced the addition of two coaches to their staff for the 2004 season. Troy Biladeau has been named Defensive Coordinator and Carl Caldwell will coach the offensive/defensive line.

Biladeau comes to the Stealth from the Cape Fear Wildcats of arenafootball2. He served as their Defensive Coordinator during the last two seasons. In 2002 with the Wildcats, Biladeau's defense was ranked number one in scoring (29.8 points per game), pass defense (166.6 yards per game), and in total defense (186.3 yards per game). During these two seasons, the Wildcats won the Atlantic Division championship with records of 15-4 and 10-7.

Prior to joining the Wildcats, Biladeau was the fullback/linebackers coach for the Quad City Steamwheelers in 2001. Quad City went on to an 18-1 record and the 2001 ArenaCup championship.

Biladeau has an af2 career assistant coaching record of 43-12 in his three seasons in the league. Prior to coming over to the af2, he was the head coach of the Wichita Warlords of the Indoor Football League (IFL), who were quarterbacked by Stealth head coach Sean Ponder. Biladeau graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education. He played on the football team during the 1994 season and was a student assistant coach during the 1995 season.

In high school, Biladeau was an honorable mention All-Class 3A quarterback selection at Silver Lake High School. He also participated in basketball and track during his high school career. During his senior year, he led the football team to a 13-0 record and a 3A championship. He threw for 1,501 yards and 24 touchdowns that season. Biladeau is the son of Russ and Lana Biladeau of Silver Lake.

Caldwell returns to the Stealth after serving as an assistant coach on the staff of Land Jacobsen during the 2001 and 2002 seasons. Caldwell has been a long time assistant coach and offensive coordinator in the Wichita high school ranks. He has spent time at Wichita Heights, Wichita North, and Wichita Bishop Carroll. Before becoming a coach, Caldwell was a running back and return specialist at Butler County Community College and Wichita State University.

"We are very excited to have these two individuals with us this season," said Stealth head coach Sean Ponder. "Biladeau has had one of the better defenses in the af2 the last two seasons, as well as a championship ring from Quad City and Caldwell has been with the organization before and we are very fortunate to have him back this season."

STEALTH NOTES: The Stealth begin training camp on March 18th at The Sports Zone (9020 West Harry).The Stealth will kick-off the 2004 season on April 3rd at the Kansas Coliseum when they take on the Peoria Pirates. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and season tickets are still available by calling the Stealth ticket office at 316.755.3307.
