Calgary, AB - The Washington Stealth edged the Calgary Roughnecks 12-11 in the second half of a home-and-home set Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Off the opening draw, Roughnecks transition player Geoff Snider netted the game's first goal seven seconds in. Snider added an assist to finish the night with two points, while Dane Dobbie led Calgary with pair of goals and three assists. Scott Ranger (1g, 3a) and Jeff Shattler (2g, 2a) each registered four points, while the Roughnecks also had a strong performance from Shawn Evans (1g, 2a). Curtis Dickson recorded his 100th career NLL goal in the third quarter and added two more markers to complete the hat trick. Dan MacRae (1g) rounded out the scoring for Calgary.
Rhys Duch led the way for the Stealth with three goals and four assists, while former Roughneck Lewis Ratcliff (3g, 2a) who tallied five points. Washington forwards Brett Bucktooth (1g, 3a) and Kyle Buchanan (1g, 2a) as well as transition player Mitch McMichael (3a) also had good outings.
Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin stopped 38 of the 50 shots he faced as the Roughnecks outshot the Stealth 59-50.
Calgary will play their last regular season home game on Saturday, April 13 when the defending NLL champion Rochester Knighthawks make their lone appearance at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Game time is 7 p.m.
