-RUBBER MATCH TONIGHT AT BOWMAN FIELD: After taking the first matchup of the year at Bowman Field, the State College Spikes return there tonight to face the Williamsport Crosscutters looking to take the lead in the SawBuck Series this year. The series currently stands in favor of State College, 16-10, with the Spikes holding an 8-5 edge at both ballparks.

-ERRORS DAMAGE SPIKES' EFFORTS: The Spikes tied a team record with six errors in a 7-3 loss to the Crosscutters last night. Five of Williamsport's seven runs were unearned, including four of the five against Spikes starter Rudy Owens, who took the loss to drop to 0-2 on the year.

-MERCER, MERCER, ME: Jordy Mercer provided most of the offense for State College, with an RBI double and a solo homer. The homer by Mercer was both his first as a pro and the first at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park this year.

-SPIKES TAKE IT TO THE BANK TONIGHT: Maurice Bankston will start on the mound for State College tonight. The right-hander was cut off after 58 pitches in his first start last Thursday, going 3.2 innings and allowing just one run on one hit and two walks. Bankston also struck out five for a career high

-TONIGHT'S CUTTERS STARTER: Right-hander Justin De Fratus gets the ball for manager Dusty Wathan's Crosscutters. De Fratus has made one start, going six innings while allowing an unearned run to beat Jamestown last Thursday. De Fratus will try to follow upon fellow righty Robert Roth's quality start last night. Roth went seven innings and allowed two runs while throwing 99 pitches.

-BROTHER BATTLE: Brothers Chase d'Arnaud of the Spikes and Travis d'Arnaud of the Crosscutters have now played two games against each other. Travis is so far getting the best of it at the plate, going 5-for-8 in the first two contests. Chase is 2-for-7 with a steal, and also forced his brother out Monday.
