State College Spikes - Pittsburgh Pirates (15-15) @ Auburn Doubledays - Toronto Blue Jays (12-18)

Game #31 / Road Game #17 RHP Tyler Waldron (0-2, 4.09) vs. RHP Jesse Hernandez (1-1, 4.30)

-SPIKES FINISH OFF ROAD TRIP TONIGHT: The State College Spikes complete a six-game road swing with the last of three games against the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park. State College is now 9-12 all-time against Auburn in Central New York, with the overall series tied, 21-21. The Spikes will be back in State College for a five-game homestand starting Tuesday.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes came from behind for the second night in a row, but the Doubledays made the last move, scoring three runs in the seventh to grab a 6-5 win at Falcon Park last night. Steve McQuail produced a pair of two-run doubles, including a two-bagger that drove in the go-ahed run for Auburn in the seventh. Gerlis Rodriguez had given the Spikes the lead in the top half of the innings with a two-run wall-ball double.

-WALDRON TO TRY AND FIND SUCCESS TONIGHT: Right-hander Tyler Waldron gets the ball tonight for the Spikes. Waldron has gone five innings in each of his last three starts, but has not earned a victory yet on the 2010 season. The Pirates' fifth-round draft pick this June, Waldron took the loss after allowing just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out three against Vermont on Tuesday.

-HERNANDEZ GETS THE BALL FOR DOUBLEDAYS: Right-hander Jesse Hernandez gets the call for Auburn tonight. Hernandez makes his third start and sixth overall appearance, and his first since allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk in four innings against Tri-City. The Central Michigan alum was signed as a free agent by the Blue Jays after this year's draft.

-CURRY REBOUNDS TO KEEP ON-BASE STREAK: Spikes infielder Matt Curry went 3-for-4 last night to extend his on-base streak to 15 games. It was Curry's 5th 3-hit game of the season.

-ROJAS OFFICIALLY JOINS SPIKES: Outfielder Mel Rojas, Jr., the Pirates' third-round draft choice in 2010, has now joined the Spikes roster after signing with the Bucs on Thursday.
