-SPIKES BACK TO NORMAL AGAINST MUCKDOGS: After spending a night as the State College Haymakers, the State College Spikes go back to their usual name for the second of five straight matchups against the Batavia Muckdogs. Tonight's game is the last against the Cardinals' affiliate at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park this year. Batavia leads the all-time series, 24-22. State College, however, leads the season series in 2010, 4-2.

-LAST GAME: The Spikes became the Haymakers for "What If Night," but fell behind early as Victor Sanchez, Nick Longmire and Jon Rodriguez combined to start the game 6-for-6 and gave the Batavia Muckdogs a 7-3 win at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Gerlis Rodriguez knocked in both of the Haymakers' last two runs, and Cole White doubled twice for the once and future Spikes.

-WALDRON FIRING ZEROES ON HILL: Right-hander Tyler Waldron gets the ball for his 13th start on the 2010 season, and brings a streak of 11 straight scoreless innings into the game. Waldron has now run up two shutout strings over 10 innings or more on the year, after throwing 14 straight scoreless innings from July 13-24. The Pirates' fifth-round draft choice in 2010, Waldron has also allowed righties just a .212 average at the plate.

-MUCKDOGS SEND OUT EDWARDS: Batavia will go with left-hander Justin Edwards on the mound tonight. Edwards has allowed left-handed hitters a .325 average this year, but just a .243 mark to right-handers. The southpaw allowed five unearned runs over seven innings against Williamsport last time out, taking the loss.

-CURRY STILL SPICING UP OFFENSE: Matt Curry is third in the New York-Penn League with a .405 on-base percentage, and his five home runs are second on the team. Curry has also knocked in seven runs over his last ten games.
