State College swept a two-game series from Jamestown at Diethrick Park earlier this month, and has taken 5 of the last 7 games against the Jammers. Jamestown leads the all-time series between the two teams, 33-26.

-LAST GAME: Junior Sosa ignited the State College Spikes' attack with the second inside-the-park home run in franchise history, giving Matt Benedictall the support he needed for his third win of the season as the Spikes downed the Jamestown Jammers, 3-1, on Wednesday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Sosa joined Nathan Southard as the only Spikes players with an inside-the-park round-tripper when he lined a 2-1 pitch to center field that went over the head of Jamestown's Marquise Cooper to the wall. Southard delivered his inside-the-park home run against Williamsport on August 3, 2006.

-HAFNER AT FULL SPEED FOR SPIKES: Right-hander Ryan Hafner gets the ball to start for State College tonight. Hafner has lowered his earned run average to 2.56 over his last three starts, placing seventh in the league in that category. The Pirates' 2010 17th-round draft pick has also held opponents to a .218 avergae, third-best in the NYPL. Hafner has not allowed a run in ten innings against the Jammers this year.

-JAMMERS LOOK FOR AID FROM REYES TONIGHT: Jamestown right-hander Helpi Reyestakes the mound to begin tonight's series finale for the Jammers. Reyes has faced the Spikes twice this season after making the transition from the Dominican Summer League.Reyes took the loss on June 24 after allowing three runs over five innings, and pitched another five innings in a no-decision on August 5 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
