Stars to Host "STEM Night" at Vivint Smart Home Arena on February 8

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, will play a home back-to-back set this week, culminating with "STEM Education Night presented by Med One Group" at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday, Feb. 8.

The Stars will open their home back-to-back on Thursday, Feb. 7, with "Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Dave & Buster's" against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets affiliate). Fans can purchase an exclusive ticket package to the game for $15, which includes a teddy bear.

Each bear, pictured with the Stars' mascot, Buster, will be tossed by fans onto the court at halftime of the game. They will be donated to the West Jordan Police Department for use by officers and victim advocates to provide comfort to children. The game tips off at 7 p.m. (MT) at Bruin Arena on the campus of Salt Lake Community College and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Salt Lake City will conclude its back-to-back set the following evening with "STEM Education Night presented by Med One Group" on Friday, Feb. 8, at Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz. In partnership with the Utah STEM Action Center and Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), the game will feature interactive STEM exhibits and booths for students around the arena concourse and STEM-themed game entertainment during breaks.

The Utah Jazz will host the regional tournament for NBA Math Hoops, a fast-paced basketball board game that teaches students fundamental math skills over a 12-week curriculum, beginning at 4 p.m. (MT) at Vivint Smart Home Arena. All Math Hoops attendees are encouraged to participate in the STEM Night festivities and stay for the Stars game following competition.

The entire Stars roster will participate in an autograph session for all fans following the game. The contest against the Santa Cruz Warriors (Golden State Warriors affiliate) tips off at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast on Facebook Live, which can be accessed via the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page.

Entering this week's slate of games, which marks the fourth of five back-to-back sets for Salt Lake City this season, the Stars own a 16-17 (.485) mark in the 2018-19 campaign. The roster is highlighted by Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh and Naz Mitrou-Long, who will continue to split their time between the Jazz and Stars this season. In addition, Utah Jazz players Grayson Allen, Tony Bradley, Raul Neto and Georges Niang have spent time with the Stars on assignment this season.

All Stars home games include inflatables, pop-a-shot, face painters and balloon artists in the Kids Zone, presented by University of Utah Health, as well as appearances by the team's mascot, Buster, and a rotation that includes the Jazz Dancers, Jazz Dunk Team or Jazz Stunt Team.
