
Stars to Host Chicago Steel for Teddy Bear Toss Night

The Stars (14-6-0) will host the Chicago Steel (9-9-3) on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Ice Box. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
Lincoln enters the game having won two of their last three games, while the Steel is on a four-game winning streak and has won five of their last six games.
Ludvig Hoff leads the Stars with nine goals and 13 assists. Tanner Laczynski leads the Steel with six goals and 17 assists.
The Stars have partnered with The Blaze 104.1 for the Teddy Bear Toss on Friday night. Fans are encouraged to bring or buy stuffed animals, then toss them on the ice following the Stars first goal of the game.
All stuffed animals and proceeds from their sales will be donated to Community Action, a local non-profit organization serving the low-income families in Lancaster and Saunders counties.

The Buccaneers took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission and held onto that lead despite third period goals from Patrick Polino and Christian Evers. Stars goalie Patrik Virtanen made 30 saves as Lincoln outshot Des Moines 33-30.
Scouting Chicago - The Steel comes into this weekend on a four-game winning streak, going 5-0-1 in their past six games and giving them the best record in the USHL during that stretch. Chicago forward Tanner Laczynski is third in league scoring with 23 points in 20 games.
Special Teams Battle - Lincoln has the best power play in the USHL (25.7%) and Chicago is directly behind them (23.1%). The Steel's penalty kill is 5th in the league (86.1%) and the Stars are eighth on the kill (83.5%).

Jersey Auction - The Stars will host a jersey auction for Make-A-Wish Nebraska on Saturday night. Lincoln will wear specialty jerseys and donate all proceeds to Make-A-Wish Nebraska.
Trade Made - The Stars acquired defenseman Alex Green from the Muskegon Lumberjacks for defenseman Chrisitan Hausinger on Thursday. Green has four shots and 12 PIMS in 8 games this season.
Last Season - Lincoln went 0-2-0 vs. Chicago - getting outscored 9-4. The Stars last win against the Steel came on Oct. 14, 2011.
Overtime Heroes - Lincoln is 3-0-0 in overtime and shootouts this season. Jozefek and Hoff have the Stars' overtime winners.

20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.
Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
