Stars Steer by Storm, 3-1

Kearney, Neb. - The Tri-City Storm allowed two goals in the first and the Lincoln Stars held the edge, tallying an empty-net goal at the end of the game for a 3-1 win Tuesday at the Viaero Center.

Storm forward Linus Weissbach recorded his team-leading 16th goal of the season in the first to tie the game at one. Three minutes later, Luke Jaycox scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes to play in the opening frame.

Tri-City played nearly the entire game trailing in shots on goal. The Stars recorded the game's first ten shots and ended the first frame outshooting the Storm, 18-2. Making his Tri-City debut, Logan Halladay blocked 26 shots through two periods and finished with 33 saves. The Stars out shot Tri-City, 36-15.

Cayden Primeau made 14 stops and battled through a pair of Tri-City man-up chances in the third to secure the win. The Storm's power play was 1-for-4.

The Storm managed just a pair of shots in the first but Weissbach's rip tied the game, 1-1, on the power play at 15:43 of the frame. Skating to the right circle, the leading scorer tallied his 16th of the season. The recent Wisconsin commit has six goals over his last six games. Bryan Yoon and Adam Goodsir assisted.

Lincoln regained the lead, 2-1, three minutes later. Luke Jaycox intercepted the puck at the slot and beat Halladay on the glove side. Halladay made 16 saves in his first Tri-City period.

The native of Cary, North Carolina made 10 more stops in the second. The Stars had a goal waived off at 5:54 of the second. After video review, referee Sean MacFarlane determined the puck failed to completely cross the goal line on a net-front tip from Justin Richards. Tri-City ended the second trailing in shots, 28-7, but down just one.

Casey Dornbach's empty-net tally sunk Tri-City with 1:10 left.
