Los Angeles Aftershock News Release
Hermosillo, MX. The Los Angeles Stars moved to 2-0 thanks to the ABA's exciting 3-D rule on Saturday night.
Down 18 points to start the second quarter, Los Angeles went on a 21 point run to open the quarter sparked by the defense of point guard A.J. Diggs, Darwin Carter and Dion Bailey who got steal after steal and convered SIX straight 3-D chances. But the good stuff came in the 4th quarter. With the Stars down by 2 with 9.5 seconds on the clock, and Hermosillo with the ball, Bailey came up with a steal and converted the 3-D layup with 2.5 seconds left to win the game for the Stars - 153-152.
It was ABA action at its best. LA was led by Ramel Lloyd's 43 points, Tyrone Merriweather's 20 points, 10 rebounds, A.J. Diggs 20 points, 10 assists, 7 steals and Natambu Williamham's 20 points and 16 rebounds. Hermosillo was lead by Rainwaters's 34 points, Slider's 25 points and a huge game by Booker with 47 points.
Los Angeles is 2-0 after its trip to Mexico with Tijuana and Hermosillo - and now visits Long Beach on Sunday, November 28th. For more information, call 323 971 0198 or visit www.lastarsbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
