Utah Snowbears News Release
ABA basketball returned with a bang to Utah as Ike Austin's Snowbears outmanned, outplayed and outlasted the visiting Visalia Dawgs in the season opener in Salt Lake City in front of 1046 loud supportive fans. Clay Tucker led the Snowbears with 19 points, while Harold Arceneaux fired in 18 and Jared Ramirez hit 5 three pointers and finished with 17 points. Shannon Swillis lead the undermanned Dawgs with 25 points and 5 rebounds, while Chris Jefferies added 24 points. The Visalia team only dressed seven players, but only had two assists the entire game. The Snowbears outrebounded the Dawgs 44-20, while Utah shot 54 percent from the field and 56 percent from three point range. The same two teams will meet again Saturday in Salt Lake City at 7pm.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
