Salt Lake City, UT –Ike Austin, Owner/Head Coach of the Utah SnowBears (American Basketball Association), has decided against having his basketball team return to the court for the remaining playoff games closing out the 2004-2005 Utah SnowBears season.

In a statement released through Derrick Pearson, Director of Media Communications for the Utah Snowbears stated the following:

"I have no choice but to cancel the rest of our 2004-05 SnowBears season, Mr. Austin said.” This is a sad, regrettable day that all of us wish could have been avoided." Mr. Austin went on to state: "I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Utah Snowbears fans and sponsors, who make what we do possible. The Utah SnowBears players and staff are a top-notch team that put together an incredible season of basketball. I'm proud to have been a part of the ABA, and I would like to thank everyone involved for providing Utah with such a wonderful season.”
