
Stars End Season in Playoffs

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars were defeated by the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 115-107, in the first round of the playoffs tonight at Vivint Arena, ending the season in front of their crowd of fans at home.
Salt Lake City was led by center Tyler Cook who notched a double-double on 21 points (10-of-14 shooting) and 10 rebounds. Utah Jazz two-way Micah Potter added 18 points, while guard Christian Vital finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. Stacy Davis led the reserves on another double-double performance, grabbing 10 rebounds to go with 12 points. Frank Jackson (14 points) and Isaiah Miller (12 points) also scored in double-digits for the Stars.
Sioux Falls was paced by Orlando Robinson with a game-high 31 points, along with 17 rebounds. DJ Stewart netted 21 points, while Mychal Mulder contributed 19 points.
The first half began as a battle on the court, as both teams fought for every possession. Salt Lake City center Tyler Cook scored 14 of his total 21 points in the first half and pushed the Stars to outscore the Skyforce in the second quarter (28-26). However, Sioux falls held the 69-61 lead at intermission.
The Stars shot out in the final frame as they trimmed the Skyforce's lead to two after a 14-4 run. As the clock counted down, Sioux Falls continued to bring the heat, claiming the one-off playoff game victory 115-107, ending the season for Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City finishes the 2022-23 season with a record of 20-13.
