
Stars Acquire Varner from Youngstown

Lincoln Stars general manager Nick Fabrizio announced on Monday that the team has acquired forward Justin Varner and a 10th round pick in the 2024 USHL Phase II Draft from the Youngstown Phantoms in exchange for a third round pick in the 2024 USHL Phase I Draft and a third round pick in the 2024 USHL Phase II Draft.
Varner, 19, has spent each of the last two seasons with the Phantoms and recorded 27 points in each campaign over a combined 113 games. He started last season strong, scoring goals in four of his first six games en route to helping Youngstown capture the Clark Cup in May. Varner is a Shelby Township, Mich. native.
