Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa - Each time the Waterloo Black Hawks are on home ice at Young Arena in 2023/24, fans will have the opportunity to recognize a military service member or veteran through the VGM Seats of Honor Program, the team announced Monday.

This winter, the longstanding effort to commemorate service will focus on the contributions made by northeast Iowa residents to our Armed Services. Nominations are currently being accepted. Selected veterans or active-duty personnel will receive four Black Hawks game tickets in order to bring family or friends. During each game, the night's honoree will be highlighted on Young Arena's video board, allowing the crowd to acknowledge their years of service and the branch in which they served.

"No matter what has happened on the ice, the VGM Seats of Honor Program gives every fan in the building - and even players on both teams - a chance to cheer together," said Black Hawks President and COO Joe Greene, "These wonderful men and women have sacrificed for all of us, and we are thrilled that VGM has chosen to partner with the team on this effort."

Visit the Black Hawks' website, waterlooblackhawks.com soon, to make a nomination. Fans are encouraged to fill out a brief electronic form providing introductory information about the soldier, sailor, marine, airman, or coast guard member. The Hawks will notify selected individuals and invite them to an upcoming game.
