
Stars Acquire Mesic from Lancers

Lincoln Stars General Manager Nick Fabrizio announced Wednesday the team has acquired forward Michael Mesic and a seventh-round pick in the 2023 USHL Phase II Draft from the Omaha Lancers in exchange for Griffin Jurecki.
Mesic, 17, led the North Iowa Bulls of the North American Hockey League in assists (31) and points (49) this past season. His 18 goals ranked third on the team. The Plymouth, MI native is committed to Northern Michigan University. Michael's brother, Jack, played in three games with Lincoln in 2021-22, adding an assist.
Jurecki, 19, scored 13 goals and 19 assists in 89 regular-season games with the Stars over the past three seasons. The University of Denver commit was selected by Lincoln in the 2019 USHL Futures Draft with the 47th overall pick.
