Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

Stepping up to the plate this Tuesday night for the Kannapolis Intimidators will be NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular David Starr. Although Starr prefers ovals to diamonds, he is excited about throwing out the first pitch and then getting to spend some time with his team away from the track.

"I think that going to the Intimidators game on Tuesday night will be a fun experience and it will bring back some memories from when I was a kid. I grew up playing baseball in Texas and I also played in high school. I was the catcher on my high school baseball team. It'll be great to walk out on the field and throw out the first pitch, especially for a team named after Dale Earnhardt.

"A lot of the guys from my team are coming out and it'll be fun to do something away from the shop with them. We don't get a chance to hang out away from the track and the shop very often and I'm really looking forward to that. We can just relax a watch a good game and then on Wednesday, we can get focused back on racing again."

Starr will sign autographs from 6-6:30 pm on Tuesday, May 13th at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. He is scheduled to take the mound at approximately 6:45 pm and the game will start at 7:05 pm. Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium, the home of the Intimidators is located at exit 63 off of I-85 in Kannapolis. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the gate or by calling 704-932-FANS.
