(Kannapolis, NC) – The Crawdads benefited from seven walks and a grand slam home run by Jorge Cortes in the six run seventh inning walking away with Monday's 9-5 win over the Intimidators in Kannapolis.

Hickory (26-10) jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Victor Cuello's sacrifice fly scoring Rajai Davis.

After Anthony Webster, 3-4 2RB, scored on a throwing error by third baseman Miguel De La Cruz, Edgar Varela singled in Pedro Lopez to take the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Tabor Lee's RBI single tied the game at two a piece in the top of the second inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Kannapolis (17-20) took the lead again on an RBI double by Gonzalez and a single by Webster.

Tim Bittner pitched into the seventh inning with a 5-3 lead giving up a single to Tabor Lee and a walk to Matt Meath before giving way to Todd Deininger. The former Texas A&M Aggie walked the bases load and walked the next batter, Victor Cuello, cutting the Intimidators lead 5-4. Jorge Cortes then mashed the grand slam to right field just inside the foul pole giving the Crawdads all the runs they would need and taking the lead 9-5.
