Suns Announce Funeral Giveaway Promotion

Hagerstown, MD â The Hagerstown Suns, in conjunction with the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, are pleased to announce a one-of-a-kind promotion taking place at Municipal Stadium. The Suns and the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home are giving away an all-expenses paid pre-planned funeral service to the fan with the most creative idea concerning his or her ideal funeral.
Fans are encouraged to submit an essay describing how they would plan their ideal funeral, detailing themes, music, location, participants, etc. The Suns and the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home want this contest to be fun, so fans are encouraged to have fun with their essay - the more light-hearted and creative, the better. Essays can be submitted to either the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home located at 305 N. Potomac Street in Hagerstown or to the Suns offices at 274 East Memorial Boulevard in Hagerstown.
"We at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home are proud to sponsor the Funeral Service Giveaway," stated Bryan Kenworthy, Funeral Director of the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home. "We would like the public to know the importance of funeral pre-planning and the money that can be saved by doing so."
Two prospective winners will be selected by a panel of judges at each of the Suns home games on June 6, July 12, and August 15. On August 16, the six finalists will have the opportunity to read their essays, and the panel will declare a winner. The winner will receive a complimentary Standard Funeral Service Plan from the Suns and Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home. In addition, each entrant, merely for submitting an essay, will be awarded a $75.00 coupon good toward the purchase of a pre-planned funeral service from the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home.
The Hagerstown Suns of the South Atlantic League are the Class A affiliate of the National League Champion San Francisco Giants. The Suns' regular season runs through September 1st. Ticket packages and sponsorships are available by calling 301/791-6266.
