The New York Mets have announced that left handed reliever, Mike Stanton, will pitch tomorrow for the Brooklyn Cyclones in a rehabilitation assignment on Thursday, July 10th against the New Jersey Cardinals at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey. The Cardinals will take on the Cyclones in a doubleheader beginning at 5 PM.
Mike Stanton first entered the Major Leagues in 1989 with the Atlanta Braves. He has spent time with five different major league teams: Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, New York Yankees and New York Mets. Stanton has been on four World Series Championship teams (Atlanta Braves 1995, New York Yankees 1998, 1999, 2000). For his major league career (15th season), Stanton has a record of 55-40 with an ERA of 3.79.
Team posters will be given out to the first 1,000 fans, sponsored by Phils Ford Lincoln Mercury & Williams Printing. Following the doubleheader, the Cardinals will take on the Cyclones on Friday in Brooklyn.
