Calgary Stampeders News Release
The Calgary Stampeders will be facing their toughest foe of the season on Thursday as they face the Townsend Tigers in their annual wheelchair football contest at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
This is the sixth year in a row the Stamps are facing the tough Tigers and the Red and White are still looking for their first win.
"Win or lose, it's great to come out here and be with the kids," said Stampeders defensive back Brandon Smith, who is the official team representative for the Every Yard Counts program, which features visits to the Alberta Children's Hospital prior to every home game. "I was hooked the first time I went. I love seeing the smiles on the kids' faces when we visit."
Also scheduled to be in the underdog Stampeders' lineup on Thursday are Jabari Arthur, Rene Paredes, Randy Chevrier, Keon Raymond, Anthony Parker, Rob Cote and Spencer Wilson.
