Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Stampeders meet West Division rival BC for the first time this season as the Lions pay a visit to McMahon Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

BC is the only opponent the Stamps have yet to face during the 2015 regular season and the Red and White will be putting their perfect 6-0 home record on the line when they face the Leos. Calgary leads the West with an 8-3 mark while the Lions are third in the division at 4-6.

The Stamps saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as they dropped a 27-16 decision to the Eskimos in Edmonton. The Lions have dropped three of their past four games including Sunday's 31-18 setback at the hands of the Ottawa RedBlacks at BC Place.

The Stamps have a 4-1 mark against West opponents while the Lions are 3-1 against division foes.

Calgary had the edge in the season series against BC in 2014 as the Stamps won two of the three meetings. BC was a 25-24 winner at McMahon on Aug. 1 but Calgary rebounded to record wins of 14-7 at home on Sept. 27 and 33-16 in Vancouver on Nov. 7.

Team-A-Palooza

It's Team-A-Palooza Night and teams from any sport are encouraged to come to the game as a group. Teams can submit a selfie of themselves wearing their team gear and submit it on social media throughout the game using the hashtag #TeamAPalooza for a chance to win great prizes.

Fans are also encouraged to wear any Calgary sports team jersey to the game - Flames, Roughnecks, Hitmen or Stampeders - and create a city-wide pep rally.

At halftime, two Timbits football teams - the Okotoks Eagles and Southwest Bulldogs - will take to the field to showcase their team spirit and love of football.

Back 2 School Drive

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce the return of the Back 2 School Drive to help local students in need. The program is an initiative created in 2014 by Bianca Raymond, wife of veteran Stampeders defensive back Keon Raymond.

Fans can bring backpacks filled with school supplies - including paper, pencils and crayons - to Friday's game. Volunteers will be located in the east parking lot at McMahon Stadium near the Crowchild Trail pedestrian overpass as well as the southeast and northwest gates.

Fans can also drop items off any day this week at the Stamps Ticket Office at the southeast corner of McMahon Stadium. The Ticket Office is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Fans making a contribution will be entered into a draw for a signed Keon Raymond jersey.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary and the Calgary Women's Shelter will help distribute the items collected to students in need.

Dodge Fan Zone Pre-Game Party

Friday's activity kicks off early at 5 p.m. in the Dodge Fan Zone, located in the east parking lot across from the Stamps Store and Ticket Office. Watch for the Tim Hortons Cruiser along with food trucks, a live DJ, partner games - including a BOKS Canada obstacle course - and giveaways.

Also, be sure to check out PROSTAID Calgary in the Dodge Fan Zone as September is prostate cancer awareness month. The Prostate Cancer Man Van will be on-site along with the Dark Side Racing Top Fuel Dragster as they work together to help increase awareness about the importance of early detection.
