Stamps Select Six Players in CFL Draft

The Calgary Stampeders chose a total of six players in Tuesday's 2021 Canadian Football League draft.
The team's picks were as follows:
Amen Ogbongbemiga
1st round - eighth overall
Linebacker
College: Oklahoma State
Height: 6.01
Weight: 235
Born: Sep. 4, 1998
Birthplace: Lagos, NG
An alumnus of Calgary's Notre Dame High School, Ogbongbemiga played 49 games over four seasons (2017-20) at Oklahoma State. In his career with the Cowboys, Ogbongbemiga recorded 209 tackles including 25 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, one interception and one blocked kick. He was voted as a captain by his teammates during his final two seasons. Following the 2021 National Football League draft, Ogbongbemiga signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bryce Bell
2nd round - 11th overall

Born: Mar. 3, 1998
Birthplace: Waterloo, ON
Bell played 26 games over four seasons (2016-19) at Laurier including 16 starts at right tackle. Over the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Bell was part of a Golden Hawks offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in Ontario University Athletics and in 2019 helped pave the way for conference rushing champion Levondre Gordon. Bell attended Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School in Waterloo before suiting up for the Cambridge Lions club team. Bell became the first Golden Hawks offensive lineman to appear on the CFL Scouting Bureau's list of the top 20 CFL draft-eligible prospects.
Charlie Moore
3rd round - 26th overall

Born: Mar. 14, 1998
Birthplace: South Delta, BC
Moore played 17 games over three seasons (2017-19) with the Dinos. In his career, he tallied 77 tackles including 11.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one sack, one interception, one pass defended and one blocked kick. Moore was invited to the 2021 College Gridiron Showcase in Fort Worth, Tex. He won a provincial championship with the South Delta Sun Devils in 2014 and was a member of the Dinos' Vanier Cup-winning team in 2019. Moore majored in geography at the U of C.
Elliot Graham
4th round - 29th overall

Born: Sept. 21, 1998
Birthplace: Hamilton, ON
Graham played 23 games for the Thunderbirds from 2017-2019 and made 87 tackles including four tackles for loss, five pass breakups, one forced fumble and one sack. He also had an interception returned for a touchdown against Manitoba in 2017, with the 107-yard runback being the longest in school history and second-longest in Canada West history. He attended Westdale Secondary in Hamilton.
Chuba Hubbard
5th round - 43rd overall

Born: June 11, 1999
Birthplace: Edmonton, AB
Hubbard played three seasons (2018-2020) for the Cowboys after redshirting in 2017. He finished his Oklahoma State career with 585 carries for 3,459 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns and ranks second in school history averaging 136.1 yards per game. Hubbard's highly decorated 2019 season saw him take home multiple honours including first-team all-Big 12, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-American. He finished eighth in Heisman Trophy voting that year as he led all FBS players in rushing yards. Hubbard won the Cornish Trophy in 2019 as the top Canadian in NCAA football. He was recently selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2021 National Football League draft.
Luther Hakunavanhu
5th round - 44th overall

Born: Aug. 23, 1996
Birthplace: Edmonton, AB
Hakunavanhu played three seasons (2017-19) with the Lions and appeared in 22 games. He registered 69 receptions for 951 yards and six touchdowns during his collegiate career. He started all eight games I 2019 and led York in receiving yards and touchdowns while finishing second in receptions. He earned an invitation to the 2020 East-West Bowl.
