Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Stampeders conclude their 2014 pre-season schedule on Friday with a visit to Vancouver's BC Place and a meeting with the BC Lions.

Kickoff is at 8 p.m. MDT and the game will be broadcast on News Talk 770 radio as well as TSN.

Both teams won their pre-season openers last week as the Stamps defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 23-20 at McMahon Stadium on a 42-yard field goal by rookie Tyler Crapigna on the final play of the game while the Lions claimed a 14-11 victory over the Eskimos at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium.

Calgary is 10-3 in pre-season action since John Hufnagel took over as head coach and general manger in 2008.

The Lions will have a familiar face at quarterback in 11-year CFL veteran Kevin Glenn, who spent the past two seasons with the Red and White. Glenn was selected by the Ottawa Redblacks in December's expansion draft and was subsequently traded to BC.

Friday's contest marks the final opportunity for the Stamps' roster hopefuls to make an impression on the coaching staff as the CFL's final cutdown date is on Saturday. Calgary kicks off the regular season on Saturday, June 28 at McMahon Stadium when the Stamps face the Montreal Alouettes in a 1 p.m. start.
