
Stampede's Molino & Nanne Make College Commitments

Sioux Falls, SD--The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that Stampede forwards Griffen Molino and Louis Nanne recently made their college commitments. Molino has committed to play Division I collegiate hockey at Western Michigan while Nanne will skate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). They become the 13th and 14th Stampede players to commit to a Division I program this season.
Molino is in his first season with the Stampede and has posted 21 points (3g, 18a) and is a plus-3 in 24 games. 11 of his 18 assists have come on the power play and two of his three goals have also come with the man advantage. The Trenton, Mich. native has five assists over his last two games for the Herd. Molino was drafted by the Herd during the 2013 USHL Phase 2 Entry Draft after spending last season playing for Brockville of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) last season.
Western Michigan is located in Kalamazoo, Mich. and has an enrollment of over 28,000 students. The Broncos play in the newly formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and are currently 6-7-3 on the year. Former Stampede defenseman Jordan Oesterle is a junior at Western Michigan and leads the Broncos in scoring amongst defenseman with seven points.
Nanne is also in his first season with the Stampede and recently returned to the ice from an off-season injury. He has one assist in two games so far this season with the Herd. A 9th round selection of the Stampede during the USHL Draft, Nanne spent last season playing for Penticton in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) where he racked up 41 points (19g, 22a) in 45 games.
RPI is located in Troy, N.Y. with an enrollment of 4,500 students and are members of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The Engineers are currently 8-5-3 on the season.
Molino, Nanne and the Stampede return to action this Friday when they host the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM. It is also Holidays with the Herd as the Stampede will be celebrating Christmas a little early with a visit from Santa Claus himself. In addition, fans are encouraged to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater for a chance to win a Stampede prize package. Tickets are available through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.
