Affiliate Grant Jozefek Commits to Northeastern

MUSKEGON, Michigan (December 9th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that affiliate Forward Grant Jozefek has made his college commitment to play for Huskies of Northeastern University out of the Hockey East Association following his junior career.

Jozefek, the Chester, New Jersey native, was drafted by the Lumberjacks with the seventh overall pick during the 2013 USHL Phase One Draft and made his USHL debut with Muskegon this season on November 15th in Youngstown against the Phantoms.

"When I took my official visit to Northeastern, the coaching staff made me feel wanted, and I know that they really love my style of play and have confidence in my abilities," said Jozefek. "That along with the top-notch facilities that they have to offer really made me want to become a future Husky in the end."

This season, Jozefek is a sophomore at West Morris Mendham (New Jersey) High School and has already notched seven goals and one assist in two games played with the Minutemen. Additionally, the Lumberjacks' prospect is playing for the Jersey Hitmen Under-18 Team out of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) and has recorded 19 points (7 goals and 12 assists) in 10 games played.

Last season, Jozefek had quite the freshman campaign for West Morris Mendham High School leading the state of New Jersey in scoring with 103 points (51 goals and 52 assists) in 24 games played earning him a Third Team All-State selection. Also, the offensive standout played for the North Jersey Avalanche out of the Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) accumulating 109 points (47 goals and 62 assists) in 54 games played.

The Lumberjacks will hit the road this weekend before the league-wide two-week holiday break hits against the Indiana Ice on Friday at 7:05 pm followed by a bout with the Chicago Steel on Saturday at 8:00 pm.

Following the break, the Lumberjacks will return home for the team's only Sunday home game of the season on December 29th against the Youngstown Phantoms at 5:15 pm that will feature Car Load Night. Fans can pile any number of people into one car for the low price of $40 that will include a ticket to the game along with a complimentary parking pass.

Individual game tickets will be on sale for the next three weeks for the December 29th home game for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks' Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
