Idaho Stampede News Release

Stampede Double Header
On Tuesday, the Stampede and Treasure Valley Community College team up for a special doubleheader at Qwest Arena. The Chukars will face an exhibition squad called the Game Time International All-Stars followed by the Stampede's game against the Albany Patroons. Tip-off for the TVCC game is 5:00 p.m. The Stampede game will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.

"We're excited to share the court with TVCC and to provide basketball fans with a chance to see two high energy games for the price of one," said Stampede President and General Manager John Brunelle. "GTI has some well-known local players and TVCC is young and eager to challenge, so fans should expect a good battle."

The GTI All-Stars roster includes Abe Jackson and Clint Hordemann of Boise State, Justin McCarthy of Albertson College, and John Davis of Northwest Nazarene. The TVCC roster includes Mike Tate, Harrison Williams, Ben Kerfoot, and Ryan Titus who all played for high schools in the Treasure Valley.

The event will also serve as a TVCC fundraiser for their program. Eighty percent of the team's pre-sold tickets will go directly to Treasure Valley Community College Men's basketball program. Tickets will be good for both games and are going to be offered by TVCC men's basketball staff and players.

"This is a great opportunity for our local fans, they can still see our player's perform and also get a chance to see player's at the top level play in the same night. This has potential to be a great marriage between the Chukar's and the Idaho Stampede," commented TVCC Head Coach Derrick Boles.

The Stampede double header is following a triple header that began the Stampede's latest homestand last Wednesday. On that night, Bishop Kelly and Boise High School began the evening with JV and varsity games and the Stampede finished the night with a win over Sioux Falls. The Stampede are coming off a win last Saturday over Rockford.

Albany Back in CBA, First Time to Boise
The Albany Patroons are back in the CBA and this will be the first time that they have ever been to Boise for a CBA game. However, this will not be the first time in town for Patroon head coach Michael Ray Richardson. Richardson, a former Montana Grizzly, is no stranger to Boise as he used to play here against his good friend, former Boise State Bronco Trent Johnson. Richardson was a three-time Big Sky first team selection and ranks second all-time in career points at UM (1,827). He also holds the record for single-season scoring average (24.2) and points in a single game (40).

Washington Celebrates Birth With Win
Last Wednesday, Stampede player Eric Washington celebrated the birth of his daughter Nadia. Washington was on a conference call with his wife in Birmingham, Alabama when she had the baby and then went on to score 10 points in a win against Sioux Falls.

Hyper Hoops
On November 30th, Ricky Sanchez was featured in the on-line magazine, HoopsHype. In the article, Sanchez talked about life in Idaho, growing up, and his future in the NBA. The article can be seen at www.hoopshype.com/interviews/sanchez_sierra.htm.

Josh Davis
As was announced last Friday, Josh Davis was signed to the Stampede roster. The 2004 CBA MVP and Newcomer of the Year was in town for about 4 hours before he was called back up to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Stampede will retain the rights to Davis while he is on the Inactive (NBA) Reserve List.

On The Road Again
This Thursday, the Stampede will embark on their first major road trip of the year. They will be on the road for 11 days and play their first game this Friday in Bismarck, North Dakota against the Wizards (4-3) and then leave Saturday morning for Muskegon, Michigan where they will play the Michigan Mayhem (2-5) for the first time this year. Remaining road games include the Gary Steelheads (5-3) and two against the Sioux Falls Skyforce (4-3).
