Idaho Stampede News Release

One Streak Ends; Another Streak Remains Intact

On Saturday night, the Stampede got their first road win of the season breaking their 4 game road losing streak. In doing so they were able to keep their undefeated streak alive against Eastern Conference opponents. Currently, the Stampede are 3-0 versus the Eastern Conference. Tomorrow they will face their fourth Eastern Conference opponent, the Gary Steelheads. Gary stands atop their conference with a 6-5 record and a one quarter point lead over the Rockford Lightning. Tip-off is 6 p.m. Mountain Time Zone. The game can be heard live on 630AM KFXD.

Road Rules

After two games on the road, the Stampede are 1-1 with three games remaining. To this point the team has flown 1900 miles and bused over 300 miles. Their next games are Tuesday against the Gary Steelheads and Friday and Saturday against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Boyette Playing at Home

For a few days anyway, Jermaine Boyette will feel just a little bit closer to home then the rest of the Stampede. Boyette attended Hammond High School in Indiana, which is just 10 miles away from Gary.

Toys for Tots

The Stampede is partnering with the US Marine Corps' premier community action program, Toys for Tots. More information will be coming in a press release this week with specifics.

Missing Boxscores

Apparently there have been some problems with Treasure Valley based media not receiving Stampede boxscores from the road. As an FYI, it is the home team's responsibility to fax box scores to media personnel that the Stampede office identifies. However, if you are still not receiving these boxscores from the opposing teams when the Stampede is on the road, please feel free to call me on my cell phone (208-830-7115) or, preferably, the team's office directly. Those phone numbers are available online at www.cbahoopsonline.com.

THE STREAK IS OVER

MUSKEGON, MI - The Idaho Stampede ended their four game road losing streak with a 94-85 (5,2) win over the Michigan Mayhem Saturday. The Stampede were led by Jermaine Boyette who poured in a game and personal high with 27 points.

The Mayhem (2-7) came out playing well winning the first two quarters and leading at halftime 43-37. But the Stampede (5-6) battled back to win the next two quarters and the game.

WIZARDS ON FIRE FROM DEEP

Fourth quarter outburst too much for Stampede

BISMARCK, ND - With 3:40 left to play and the score tied 91-91, the Wizards' Damion Dantzler went on a tear hitting three 3-point field goals in a row on his way to scoring 12 in the quarter and putting the finishing touches on a 110-101 (5,2) win over the Stampede. Dantzler finished with 21 in the game. The Stampede play tonight against the Michigan Mayhem in Muskegon, MI.

The Stampede (4-6) started slow and ended the first quarter down 10 points but veteran Eric Washington brought his team back scoring 15 points in the second quarter to cut the lead to 6. After a solid third quarter outscoring the Wizards 26-19 in which both David Jackson and Jermaine Boyette scored 11 each, the fourth quarter began with the Stampede leading 74-73.

The Stampede were able to push their lead to as many as four in the fourth quarter but strong defense by the Wizards (5-3) and the outburst from Dantzler were too much for Idaho.

NO WARM WELCOME FOR THE PATROONS

Stampede grab 6 quarter points in blow out

BOISE, ID - On a cold night outside of Qwest Arena it was an even colder night inside the arena for the Albany Patroons as the Idaho Stampede outscored them 107-81 (6,1).

After splitting the first quarter with 24 points apiece, the Stampede (4-5) outscored the Patroons (2-6) 71-45 in the second and third quarters. The fourth quarter was also a split.

The Stampede were led by David Jackson and Matt Freije, whom each scored 22 points, and Eric Chenowith that grabbed 17 rebounds.

The Patroons never found their shooting touch. Credit the Stampede for stepping up their defense forcing a dismal 36% from the field, including 4 of 23 from the 3-point line. TJ Thompson was their leading scorer with 20 points.

Stampede Player Updates

Smush Parker, Los Angeles Lakers - (updated 12/12/05) Parker has started all 20 of the Lakers' games this year and set a career high in points with 22 on December 2 against Minnesota and steals with 7 on December 6 against Milwaukee. However, a mere 4 hours later, Davis was called up to the Bucks. The Stampede still hold the CBA rights to Davis and he has been placed on the Stampede Inactive (NBA) Reserve List.

Awvee Storey, Washington Wizards - (updated 11/29/05) Storey has played in four games this season for the Wizards. He has averaged 4.0 points in those games and had a career high against Seattle on November 11th when he scored 13.
