Stampede Weekly Update: Herd Host Fargo for Pink in the Rink Night this Saturday

Don't miss one of the biggest games of the year this Saturday as the Stampede (6-1-2) host the Fargo Force (4-4-2) on Pink in the Rink night, presented by Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital.

Doors open at 6 PM and the first 500 adults receive a special Stampede beanie, thanks to Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. Make sure to be in your seats just after 7 PM for player introductions and a special ceremonial puck drop featuring women who have either defeated or are currently battling breast cancer.

The players will be wearing special pink jerseys that will be raffled off during the game. Fans can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to take one home and receive the jersey from the player right after the game! Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Post-Game Skating Party

Join us for fun on the pink ice right after the game for a post-game skating party with the players. Fans can skate on the PREMIER Center ice for 30 minutes following the game. As a reminder, the PREMIER Center does not provide skate rentals so please bring your own to the game.

Herd Tracks...

The Stampede are off to one of their best starts in franchise history at 6-1-2. They enter the weekend tied for third place in the Western Conference, just three points behind first place Tri-City with a game in hand.

The Herd are coming off a three point weekend in a home-and-home with Sioux City. Sioux Falls enters this weekend 5-0-1 in their last six games.

Artem Ivanyuzhenkov leads the team in scoring with nine points in six games while Andre Lee has eight points in eight games.

Sioux Falls has tallied 34 goals in just nine games, averaging 3.78 goals per-game, fifth most in the USHL.

The power play is clicking at 26.3%, third best in the league.

The Stampede are 4-0-0 when scoring the first goal of the game and 3-0-0 when leading after one period of play this season.

After Saturday, the Stampede will play five straight games and seven of their next games away from the PREMIER Center.

About the opponents

The Fargo Force enter the weekend with a 4-4-2 mark after taking three of a possible four points in Waterloo last weekend. The Force are led by veterans Ben Meyers and Hank Crone both have 15 points to start the season while goaltender Ryan Bischel is 3-4-2 with a 3.08 GAA and a .891 save percentage this season. The Stampede will be facing Fargo for the fourth time this season and hold a 2-1-0 mark against the Force so far this season, including a 4-3 shootout victory over the Force in their last meeting, October 13th in Sioux Falls. Fargo hosts Sioux City Friday night.

The Des Moines Buccaneers are off to a 7-4-0 mark and are coming off back-to-back victories over Green Bay and Omaha. The Bucs are 5-0-0 this season when they score the first goal of the game and 4-0-0 when leading after two periods this season. They are led by forward Matt Brown who has 17 points in 11 games. Roman Durny has seen the bulk of the play in between the pipes and is 5-3-0 with a 2.72 GAA and a .911 save percentage. The Bucs host Tri-City on Friday night.
