
Stampede trade Dwayne Jones for Muhammed Abukar

BOISE, Idaho, February 22, 2009 - Your Idaho Stampede announce today the trade of Dwayne Jones going to the Austin Toros in exchange for Mohammed Abukar. Abukar, a 6'10, 229 pound forward attended San Diego State University and earned Second Team All-Mountain West Conference honors in his junior and senior seasons.
Abukar was selected in the second round of the 2008 NBA Development League Draft by the Toros. He spent the 2007-08 season in Italy with Tisettanta Cantu, averaging 6.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in ten games.
In 16 games with the Toros this season, Abukar averaged 9.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.8 minutes per game.
Abukar will join the Stampede Monday afternoon in Boise. The Stampede face off with the Utah Flash Friday and Saturday night at Qwest Arena in Boise.
