Stampede stronger for second game against Bighorns, 106-82

February 22nd, Reno- A tense game of ‘back and forth' between the Reno Bighorns and Idaho Stampede made for some great basketball, yet the Stampede proved to be the stronger team with the final score, 106-82. .

Stampede came in strong after last night's defeat with two back to back lay ups and within two minutes, scoring 4. Bighorns' Robinson was the first scorer of the game with a solid jump shot, and Majic Dorsey scored the next 2 with a lay up to tie the score. Stampede led the score the remainder of the quarter, 28-23.

Bighorns' Russell Robinson and Antonio Meeking together scored almost half of the points by halftime, 24 of 47where Stampede's Brent Petway and Luke Jackson were the reigning leaders with 27 points between the two and a total of 49 at the end of the half.

The Stampede was able to pull away midway through the third quarter, after an 11 to 4 run. The hard fought game became heated in the fourth quarter, as the officials handed out three technical fouls and ejected Head Coach Jay Humphries.

The Bighorns will face Anaheim Friday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the Reno Events Center.
