Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, ID (February 28, 2003) – The Downtown YMCA will induct three new members into its Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 2, during the Idaho Stampede game. The ceremony will be held during halftime of the Stampede vs. Yakima Sun Kings game at the Idaho Center.

The new members being inducted on Sunday are Henry Mallory, John Williams, and John Brunelle. Brunelle is the general manager of the Idaho Stampede.

"It's nice that there is a hall of fame for people who really aren't very good at basketball," said Brunelle. "I am honored to be recognized for my inability."

They will join more than twenty members in the hall, which honors the "Noon Ball" players at the downtown YMCA. To be eligible for the Hall of Fame players must have played noon-time ball for at least 15 years.

Among the Hall of Fame members planning to attend are former Supreme Court Justice Byron Johnson, retired Idaho Power CEO James Bruce, and local attorney Frank Stoppello.

Sunday's game is set to tip-off at 6:10 pm with doors to the Idaho Center opening at 5 p.m. Idaho will then host the Dakota Wizards, in the final two home games of the season, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tip-off both nights is set for 7:10 p.m.

Catch all the live action with Scott Johnson on KFXD AM-630, beginning at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. on Sunday) with the Stampede Report. Also, follow the game live via the internet at www.cbahoopsonline.com, through our Dakstats live web-casting.
