Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho (January 31, 2007) - Led by BJ Elder's game-high 22 points, the Austin Toros bulled over the Idaho Stampede 101-84 on Wednesday night, to extend their winning streak to five games.
The Stampede suffered through their second loss in three games since an 11-game winning streak was snapped on January 24.
Idaho could not overcome a 37% shooting night from the floor in the loss. The Stampede never led in the game, and only could cut the Toros' lead to five points early in the third quarter.
Led by Elder, the Toros had five players with double digit scoring. Jamar Smith had 17 points, and Cheyne Gadson added 16 points. Loren Woods had 16 points and snagged 17 rebounds, while Troy Bell pitched in 14 points.
The Stampede had five players in double figure scoring as well, led by Luke Jackson's 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ronell Taylor added 14 points and nine rebounds.
Coincidentally, in both of the games that Idaho and Austin has played, each has ended with the exact same score. The home team shot just 37% in both games as well.
Idaho (17-9) next plays a back-to-back set at home against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Friday and Saturday. Austin (10-16) heads home for a Friday and Saturday back-to-back set against the Bakersfield Jam.
