BOISE, Idaho - Luke Babbitt had 30 points and 14 rebounds, Jermareo Davidson had 17 points and 13 rebounds and the Idaho Stampede (18-24) overcame a dismal first quarter (15 points, 5-of-18 shooting) and first half (34 points, 8-18 FT) to beat the Tulsa 66ers 94-85 (29-14) at Qwest Arena on Wednesday night.
Babbitt's 30 points were the second most by a Stampeder this year. The Portland assignee scored 22 in the second half and grabbed 10 of his rebounds in the final two quarters. Davidson also grabbed 10 rebounds in the third and fourth quarters. Carlos Wheeler finished as a third Stampeder with 10+ rebounds, grabbing 12, as the Stampede grabbed 56 rebounds as a team.
Trailing for most of the game, the Stampede took the lead for good with a Cedric Jackson layup with 1:35 left off of an Antoine Walker feed. Jackson finished with 16 points and Walker had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Idaho finished the game on a 10-1 run.
Tulsa was led by Latvious Williams (15 points, nine rebounds) Byron Mullens (13 points, three blocks) and Elijah Millsap (12 points). Tulsa was 0-for-7 from behind the three-point line in the first half, finishing 4-of-16 (25.0 percent).
Idaho plays the Dakota Wizards on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at Qwest Arena.
