Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho, March 25, 2013 - The Idaho Stampede, with an assist from Idaho Power, have made their own three.
For the third year running, the Stampede and Idaho Power will partner for Green Week, to take place on Friday, March 29 in a game against the Bakersfield Jam. The NBA D-League club has purchased enough green power to offset every one of Idaho's 24 home games this season with renewable energy. The total amount purchased is approximately 500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per game. The average-sized home in the service area of Idaho Power uses about 12,600 kWh per year.
"Sponsoring the Idaho Stampede's Green Week provides an opportunity to share Idaho Power energy efficiency program information and tips on how to use energy wisely with community members in a fun environment," said Theresa Drake, Manager of Customer Relations and Energy Efficiency.
In addition to a greener game experience, Stampede fans have the chance to come back for 2013-14. Fans present at the March 29 game can enter a text-to-win contest with the winner receiving two season tickets to the Stampede 2013-14 season. In addition, the winner will have first rights to those particular seats for the Portland Trail Blazers-Utah Jazz NBA preseason game on October 11, 2013.
