Stampede Fall to the Blue at Showcase

SANTA CRUZ, California (January 17, 2015) - The Idaho Stampede were defeated by the Oklahoma City Blue 116-95 to open up action on the third day of the 2015 NBA D-League Showcase.

Joel Wright led Idaho with 21 points and added eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block. Fellow bigs Jack Cooley (16 points, 12 rebounds) and Jerrelle Benimon (20 points, four rebounds) helped Idaho gain an advantage down low. The Stampede grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and outscored the Blue 60-46 in the paint.

Wright kept the Stampede within striking distance in the first half by scoring 16 points on seven-for-10 shooting. Idaho pulled within two points late in the third quarter, but the Blue came out too strong in the fourth, outscoring Idaho 36-22 to put the game out of reach.

Reggie Williams scored a game-high 27 points for Oklahoma City, shooting 10-for-13 from the field. The Blue had seven scorers in double figures as the team shot 57 percent overall and 50 percent from 3-point territory. Marquis Teague came off the bench to record 15 points and a season-high 13 assists.

Oklahoma City and Idaho will both conclude their showcase slate on Monday, Jan. 19. Oklahoma City takes on the Westchester Knicks and Idaho will meet the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 4:30 p.m. to round out the showcase action for 2015.
