BOISE, Idaho - Tony Bobbitt scored 21 points off the bench, adding five steals, and the Idaho Stampede beat the Reno Bighorns 106-92 at CenturyLink Arena. Paul Carter added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Idaho (13-18).
The Stampede raced out to a 68-44 first half advantage, scoring 13 fast break points, while shooting 55.1 percent from the field and 58.3 (7-for-12) percent from the three-point line. Idaho forced 10 Bighorns turnovers, which led to 15 points for the home team in the first two quarters. The team notched 21 assists on 27 first half baskets in the first half, totaling 30 helpers on the night. Idaho led by as many as 29. The Stampede also won the rebound battle 53-43, with six players grabbing five or more boards. Marcus Banks had 16 points, six assists off the bench, while starting point guard David Bailey had six points and eight assists. Seth Tarver had 14 points and Antoine Walker added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Reno (16-17) was led by Blake Ahearn, who scored 28 points. Zach Graham had 20 points, and Christopher Ayer had 10 points, 10 rebounds.
Idaho plays Reno tomorrow, and will be wearing Utah Jazz jerseys as part of Utah Jazz Affiliate Night. The full game production team from the Jazz will take over for the night, including the Jazz mascot, dance team, PA announcer, music DJ and video board operator. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena.
