Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho (January 27, 2006) - The Idaho Stampede have announced that they have re-activated Josh Davis from their Inactive (NBA) Reserve list. Davis, who was named the CBA MVP and Newcomer of the Year in 2004, became available when he was not resigned by the Phoenix Suns after his 10-day contract expired.

So far this season, Davis has played for three different NBA teams. Hours after he signed with the Stampede on December 2, Davis learned that he would be called up by the Milwaukee Bucks and never had the opportunity to put on a Stampede jersey. He officially signed with the Bucks on December 5. On December 15, the Bucks released Davis and he returned to the Stampede to play in three games before he was called up by the Houston Rockets. In those three games he averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds. On December 29 he officially signed with the Rockets but was waived on January 4. Five days later he signed a 10-day contract with the Suns on January 9.

Davis played for the Stampede during the 2003-2004 season and is expected to be in the line-up Friday night against the Yakama Sun Kings. During the 2003-2004 season he played in 40 games with the Stampede averaging 18.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game on his way to winning the MVP and Newcomer of the Year awards. In March of 2004 he also signed a 10 day contract with the Atlanta Hawks and led the Stampede to the CBA championship game.

Davis played with the 76ers during the 2004-2005 season. He spent some time on the injured reserve list and played in 42 regular season games and 2 playoff games. He averaged 2.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

In college, Davis played four years at Wyoming. He left Wyoming as the 2nd leading all time rebounder and was also second in steals, and blocked shots and ranks 13th in scoring. Davis is originally from Salem, OR.

Davis will wear #5 for the Stampede. Eric Williams has changed to #55.

Greg Clausen has been placed on the Injured Reserve.
