Rockford Lightning News Release

Ronnie Fields set another Lightning record in the 116-108 victory over the Gary Steelheads on Thursday night at the MetroCentre.

With less than one minute remaining in the game, Ronnie acknowledged the applause from a standing crowd as an announcement came over the P.A. that the Rockford legend had passed Fred Cofield as the all time leader in minutes played in a Lightning uniform.

Fields is at the top of nine major statistical categories in the Lightning record book including games played (223), minutes played (6,768), field goals made (1,539), field goals attempted (3,039), free throws made (946), free throws attempted (1,221), points (4,258), steals (236), and 3-point field goals (234). He is now just 9 rebounds away from tying Jim Lampley for the number one spot on the all time list, and 12 assists away from second place in that category. Ronnie finished the night with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals to make it his fourth straight game of at least 4 steals.

Sidney Holmes recorded his second straight game of 15 or more rebounds with 16 on the night while John Jackson added 14 points and 12 rebounds. CBA Player of the Week Marlon Parmer added a team high 26 points with 8 assists and 3 steals as the Lightning picked up a season high 6.5-quarter points over their visiting Eastern Conference rivals.

The Lightning improve to a CBA best 21-8 record with the win and an impressive 13-2 record on their home court. Head Coach Chris Daleo has the Lightning off to the best start in his four year career as he picks up his 104th career win with the team and brings his career winning percentage to .601, the highest in the history of the Rockford team.

Daleo and the Lightning will head to Michigan this Sunday to take on the Mayhem at 5:05 P.M. (CST). Rockford will look to improve on its current five-game winning streak at the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon and improve on their 16-3 record against Eastern Conference opponents this season.
