Colorado Eagles News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles of the ECHL, affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets & the AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced today that veterans Riley Nelson & Aaron Schneekloth will return for the team's 10th anniversary season. It will be Nelson's 10th season in Colorado and Schneekloth's seventh.

Nelson, the team's all-time leading scorer (743 points in 565 games), is the only player remaining from the club's inaugural season. Last year was the 13-year veteran's first in the ECHL and he adjusted nicely, registering 60 points (25-35-60) in 66 games to rank as the team's third-highest scoring forward. In 2010-11, the 5-foot-9-inch, 180-pound forward was voted the Central Hockey League's MVP.

Schneekloth is coming off of arguably the best season of his standout career -- one in which he was voted the ECHL's Defenseman of the Year; it was the third time he's garnered such an award (he was also voted the CHL's Most Outstanding Defenseman in 2008-09 & 2009-10). Like Nelson, Schneekloth is the club's all-time leader in points at his position, posting 322 points in 342 games from the blue line.

The 2012-13 season starts in October (a complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com). Tickets for all Eagles home games will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at www.ComcastTix.com, the Budweiser Events Center box office, or by calling 1-877-544-TIXX (8499) or 970-686-SHOT (7468).
