Reading Fightin Phils News Release

Once again, FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Reading Fightin Phils, has found itself ranked as one of the "Top 100 Stadium Experiences" by Stadium Journey in its January 2016 publication. This is the third straight year Baseballtown has appeared on the list. In this year's edition, FirstEnergy Stadium moved up eight spots to the no. 82 destination in the world and the top-ranked experience among all minor league teams in Pennsylvania.

This year's ranking places America's Classic Ballpark ahead of storied venues like Texas A&M's Kyle Field, the Chicago Bears' Solider Field, and Madison Square Garden.

In its fifth straight season of presenting their 100 best stadium experiences, Stadium Journey representatives have reviewed over 2,050 venues around the globe. Ratings take into account food & beverage served at each stadium, the overall atmosphere, the neighborhood surrounding the venue, the fans, access, the overall return on investment, and an extras category.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards again finished first in this year's rankings, followed by the University of Minnesota-Duluth's Amsoil Arena at no. 2, and the Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park at no.3. A full listing of the top 100 experiences can be found here.

The honor is just one of the many the Fightins and their historic ballpark have received over the years. Last year, FirstEnergy Stadium was named the no. 10 ballpark in Minor League Baseball by Baseball America in their Top 25 Best Ballparks of the Minors. In 2013, FirstEnergy was named the third-best minor league ballpark in the United States by readers of USA TODAY Travel Media Group's 10Best.com "Best Minor League Ballpark" contest. In 2001, the ballpark was named Best Ballpark in the Minor Leagues by digitalballparks.com. Six years later, it became the first ballpark that never housed a Triple-A franchise in modern MiLB history to welcome 10 million fans through the gates.

Constructed in 1951, FirstEnergy Stadium is a throwback to a bygone era and sits as the oldest park in the Eastern League. America's Classic Ballpark has seen the likes of Hall of Famers Mike Schmidt, Ryne Sandberg, and Robin Roberts call the ballpark home over its 66-season history.

Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets for the 2016 season at FirstEnergy Stadium are available by visiting Fightins.com, calling the Fightin Phils Ticket Office at 610-370-BALL, or by stopping by the Fightin Phils Ticket Office in person at FirstEnergy Stadium.
