Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators along with the City Islanders announced yesterday at a press conference that the City Islanders are relocating to Metro Bank Park on City Island to play a portion of their home schedule. The Islanders anticipate playing ten of their 15 regular season games at the home of the Senators. The 2016 Islanders' home opener vs Louisville FC is scheduled to be played at Metro Bank Park on Friday, April 22nd.

The outfield and a sod covered infield will be converted to a soccer field 5 times over the course of the 2016 season. Transformation from baseball field to soccer field will take 24 to 36 hours to complete, while transitioning back to a playable baseball field will take the Senators' grounds crew about 48 hours. Soccer matches will be played while the Senators' team is away on long road trips, providing enough time to transition the facility.

President of the Harrisburg Senators, Kevin Kulp said of the announcement, "The Harrisburg Senators are excited to be able to give the City Islanders a home during the 2016 season. Community is something that we value as an organization and we are proud to be able do our part to not only keep professional soccer in Central PA but also in the City of Harrisburg."

The Senators offices are open from 8:30 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. daily during the off-season. The 2016 home opener is Thursday, April 14th against the Reading Fightin Phils.
