Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, IA - Fighting Saints defenseman Lucas St. Louis has been named the USHL Defenseman of the Week for his performance in three games this past weekend.
In the Saints perfect weekend, St. Louis scored two power-play goals and added two assists to accompany his plus-1 rating. His two power-play goals broke a tie for the most in the league, putting St. Louis two-goals clear at the top of the power-play scoring ranks.
After the Saints played a low-scoring contest on Thursday against Sioux City, St. Louis recorded a power-play goal and an assist in each of the next two games. His 15 total power-play points are also the most in the USHL. In total, St. Louis has nine goals and 12 assists in his second full USHL season.
With the Saints missing Joona Väisänen all weekend and Jayden Jubenvill on Saturday, St. Louis was paired with Fisher Scott at the top of a depleted defense corps in the three victories. The Harvard commit contributed fully at both ends of the ice en route to the Saints takeover of first place in the Eastern Conference.
